The Great Date April 20, 2008

The Out of Towner came to town this weekend and took me on what is quite possibly the best date I’ve ever had.

That’s really saying a lot, Babs.  You go on a lot of dates!

I know.

So what made it so great?

It was just the perfect evening.  I looked fantastic, if I do say so myself.  The weather couldn’t have been any better.  He looked and smelled good.  We met in a non-descript parking lot and then rode together to the restaurant.  We went to Seas.on’s 52 in Buckhead.  I have been wanting to go there for quite some time.  I’ve heard nothing but good things about the place.

They did not disappoint.  We took a table in the wine bar as it was more quiet and conducive to conversation than the main dining room.  Our server was great.  He gave great suggestions from the wine and dinner menu.  I appreciated the OoT for selecting the wine for the both of us, as I fully believe ladies should not trouble themselves with thinking.  He selected our wine and then we discussed the menu together.  When our server came back to take our order he ordered for the both of us.  A true gentleman.  We had the mussels, roma tomato flatbreads, scallops and salmon.  Everything was simply delicious!

We had more wine and tried a few of the desserts before we decided to leave.  I cannot remember the last time I had a better meal.

After the restaurant we decided to continue the date elsewhere.  Neither of us wanted to be bothered with the busy, noisy bar scene, so we headed over to the Bar at the Ritz Carlton.  The Bar was hopping.  I was really suprised at how busy it was.  Plenty of couple and singles were mingling and listening to the live band.  We found a cozy couch in the corner and ordered a bottle of wine.  We sat and talked for what must have been a couple of hours.  It was the perfect mix of serious conversation and joking around.

As we left, the valet was giving everyone a bottle of water.  A solid idea considering how much wine we had consumed.  We made our way back to the non-descript parking lot and said our goodbyes with promises to get together again soon.

Today I am feeling pretty good about the Out of Towner.  You should too.

I’m glad you had a great date but you ain’t gonna tell me I should feel good bout him too. Why? Cuz we don’t know him like that yet. My verdict? Sounds like a nice guy…but we’ll see. ROFL!

LOL@”I fully believe ladies should not trouble themselves with thinking”.

Isn’t it great to sit back, relax, and wait for the good food/drinks to show up? ;)
