Weekend in Review May 18, 2008

This weekend was far better than the last. It felt good to get out of the house and do some things. And it felt GREAT to be productive around the homestead.
I watched a fair amount of television. Cooked yummy dinner on Saturday. And today did some more purging. I even put some stuff in my storage locker here at the complex. It’s a scary place and my unit is all the way in the back, so I took Roxie with me. LOL! Seriously, I felt way more comfortable taking my six-pound puppy with me.
For some strange reason I really wanted to see Iron Man. I figured the best way to see it is to take a little boy that is familiar with comic books so he can explain things to me. Thankfully, the Intern was just the man-child for the job. I mostly enjoyed the movie though I was a little confused for about the first 40 minutes. I knew nothing about the movie, not even who starred in it, so I was wondering what was up with all that sand. I think Intern enjoyed it as well.
I’ll be spending the rest of the day in full on relax mode. No more chores. Gotta get my mind right for a busy week. I cannot believe it is Memorial Day already. Half the year- gone! I have got to have a better second half, people!

I’ve worked all weekend. It has been a “madhouse.”
Ummm, did you not see Terrance Howard in the movie? How could you miss that yummy morsel?
This weekend I finished re-decorating my house. I am itching to paint something. Might go small again and do the laundry room, but that would mean unhooking the washer and dryer. Hmmmm, might not. LOL
Hmmm went shopping for baby clothes at the Leesburg Outlet mall….again
. Had my dishwasher installed, cooked, cleaned. I paraded my little cousin around Georgetown Saturday afternoon, he was visiting from Houston, we ate lunch at Aditi, which was delish. Today, I went to Vienna, went to my favorite hometown grocery store, “Macgruders”, I love it, for some reason it reminds me of supermarkets back home in Texas, and they have Tony Cacheres! Now, I’m surfing, with my feet elevated because they hurt…and reading the fabu blogs 
I forgot I had to give Roxie a bath this evening. I couldn’t stand to smell her another day. And I just finished watching Sommersby with Richard Gere. Anyone ever seen this? I was boohoo-ing at the end.
LOL. I just gave Apollo his bath too.
I did the City Chase thing on Saturday and a little shopping with my sister while she was in town. Now I am trying to play catch up with everything two hours before bedtime. Sigh. Sommersby is a great movie – total tearjerker.
heh. I went to see Iron Man with a pal of mine who is a bit of a manchild and was desperate to see it. I didn’t think it was so bad. Did you not recognise Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges?
This weekend I went on a date at the movies and saw ‘What Happened in Vegas’. Fairly average chick flick with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. At least she was hot in it…
Friday, went with the girls (including Babs) to Cafe Circa. Saturday had to finish a project at work for a few hours in the morning. Chilled out on the couch…cleaned up, went and got a BBQ Chicken Pizza from Azio and some ice-cream and watched a cool movie on Lifetime. Sunday-watched my church on Streaming Faith. Cleaned out the refrigerator, cleaned kitchen, watched movies..then went to a small cook-out at a friends house. It was a cool weekend!
Friday – pizza at parents house, dealing with bum tire
Saturday – EXTREMELY long sorority meeting, more issues with bum tire
Sunday – church, nap and lunch at parents, ate dinner with my soror (yummy Indian food)
Friday night — I had a blast at MJQ
Saturday — twirled around the house, went to the grocery store, then went to a going away party for my friend who is going to the Peace Corps for 2 years next week (it was kinda boring, but at least I went)
Sunday — Slept most of the day away while I cooked my version of ropa vieja in the crockpot
Friday Night – I fell asleep at 7:00pm…I know, LAME! But I was exhausted
Saturday – My man took me to brunch (J. Chr.istopher’s – YUMMY!) and then we went window shopping for furniture. Then we went to a pool party at a hotel, which was a prelude to more partying that night. I went home to change my clothes, to proceed to party with the girls from the pool party. The venue of choice was a bar in Buckhead (yep, bars in BH still exist) It was all good until about 1:30am…the birthday girl was drunk and so were a couple others, so they decided to take to party back to the hotel, but it wasn’t a party anymore, everybody fell asleep.
Sunday – slept in, went to church (12:00 service)
did some yard work, cooked dinner, watched tv and went to sleep.
@cbean and jake- of course I knew the stars once I was watching the movie. i just didn’t know who was in the movie before I got to the theater. I don’t even think I saw any previews.
and cbean- I am so over terrence howard. he has saturated the market and now I am sick of him.
Friday- I with with my friend to find a late mothers day gift for his mother. We ate dinner then I pouted as he packed to go home for the weekend.
Saturday- I cleaned and made the mistake of following my sister to Phipps and Lenox. She shops way too much for my taste and patience.
Sunday- Chilled and worked for a couple hours, went home and welcomed my friend back from his weekend trip then dinner and a movie at home. I was happy again! LOL
@Babs. Yeah, I was surprised at the Iron Man role. But he is still yummy! LOL
