Battle of the Bands July 30, 2008

There was some discussion over the weekend about who was the better band between Tony Toni Tone and Mint Condition. The obvious answer is 3T, but a couple of crackheads my friends argued that Mint Condition was better. I almost had to pull over and put my friends out on the side of the road!
Whatever, Becky! 3T is totally the better band! Don’t get me wrong “U Send me swinging” is definitely my jam, but what about “Anniversary,” “The Blues,” “Lay Your Head on My Pillow”. The list goes on!
Even though I am almost always right, I do recognize that some people have different viewpoints. So I will pose the question to all of blogland.
Who is better- Tony Toni Tone or Mint Condition?

MC no doubt! Although, I do like 3T, but not as much as I adore MC!
This is so hard to decide. . . between “Pretty Brown Eyes” and “Anniversary” – Goodness!

honestly, they are so different to me, I wouldn’t compare them. But they are both great.
3T has the edge, although MC is underrated…

Although I do plan to be in the house Saturday to see the remnants of 3T perform.

3T is the ultimate, they have more hits, more albums, more history and they are from California! Game over.

It’s so ironic that I read this as I’m listening to “Is This Pain or Pleasure” and thinking sing that damn song Stokely!!!! Mint Condition, all day!
Mint Condition all day. Which one of their songs can top “U Send Me Swingin”. None. At least Stokley, the lead singer/drummer didn’t go solo like Raphael did. They had a real good flow goin but I guess he wanted to be greedy. That’s another reason why I choose Mint over the Tonies.
Also, Mint Condition is still making music, their new album “E-Life” is stores right now, with the new single just released “Nothing Left to Say”
I did hear that Tony Toni Tone is coming out with a new CD in 2009, I’mma have to check it out.
I like 3T…but hands down Mint Condition.. I love that group.

I’ve been lucky enough 2 c em both and as hard as MC brings it when Stokely sings Toni Tony Tone knocks them out when that other guy steps up to the mic.Both Dawane and Raphael both have memerable hits and whats MC without the power balard and Stokely?
Looks like Mint Condition wins! BTW, to Sam who listed “Just Me And You” as a TTT song, that was technically Raphael’s solo song.
I’m calling bullshit! Sorry, I know your my BFF and all but I have to back Sam up on this one. RS wrote it (as he probably wrote a lot of their songs) but 3T performed it.

Is this a serious question? Who is the better BAND? MINT CONDITION…. E-A-S-I-L-Y!!!! Y’all do know what a band is right? You have your vocalist, drummer, bass player, keyboard, horns, piano etc. Mint is the all around best band. They can funk it up, smooth it on the r&b tip, rock it out with some rock edged stuff (which tony toni tone could NEVER do even if they tried), blend it some jazz, and even bounce it up with some hip hop. All in all, i don’t wanna type an essay and get all the 3T fans mad, 3T was nice with it, but MINT is the better band. And whoever said 3T has more albums, do your homework. Listen to the music, and not just the “hits” for you to base your answer.
This is a classic question! It’s funny because I can remember having a debate with an ex-boyfriend when I was a sophomore in H.S., at least 8 yrs. ago about this very topic..I’m a youngin, I know, but I know my music..Anyway, though it’s a tough decision, I gotta go with Mint Condition..Like a post wayyy above me, 3T certainly has more hits no doubt about it, but MC is a far better band. Plus even tho I can’t hate on 3T’s success, MC had less hits because they were always underrated in my opinion..I just have a strong respect for live instrumentation, and MC always did it best to me.
Ummm sorry, MINT CONDITION ALL DA WAY!! Stoke and them give 100% live whether it’s ten people or 1000 people. They write all of their stuff and play their own music. And they absolutely ADORE and Respect their fans!! I am not knocking the Tonies, I dig them too but I am not a fan of Ms Raphael and his diva antics.
