When I realized that sleep was going to evade me last night, I didn’t even bother to waste time trying to fall asleep. I was wide awake so I turned on the television and decided to attack my DVR. I had 4 episodes of Downton Abbey recorded and I figured the hushed voices and somber tone of the show would help me sleep. I was wrong.
Downton Abbey is such a good show! I was completely into it and before I knew it, it was 330 in the morning. Much like when I discovered the show last spring, I couldn’t stop watching.
Let’s talk about this season, shall we?
How much do you love Mr. Bates? The strong, silent type. Of course you have to remain strong and silent when you are in jail for murdering your bitch of a wife. I really hope he gets out soon so he can be with Anna. She is a true ride or die chick.
When Lady Edith got left at the altar I cried. Dude couldn’t speak up the night before? Or before she got dressed? Or before she showed up at the altar, her face filled with joy? I was sickened.
Ethel, the prostitute. I feel so bad for her. She had a future as a housemaid, slept with the wrong man and is now relegated to whoring to care for the dead man’s child. When she turned the boy over to his grandparents I was sobbing. Sitting up in my bed sobbing at 2am! I can’t even imagine never seeing my child again.
Thomas Barrow, the valet. Ugh! I hate him! I keep waiting for him to get his just desserts. And you know he will!
All of the characters are great. If you haven’t watched you should start with season one. You will be hooked.
The other day I decided that if I ever remarry I shall call my husband “his lordship.” Also, I’ve decided that we all need to start dressing for dinner. Not tux and tails, but we could all afford to step it up a notch, okay dahling?

I am actually over Mr. Bates. I used to really like him..but now I am just tired of Anna’s struggle! She is young and pretty and shoudn’t have to deal with it! She is ride or die.
Have you noticed that Mary and Matthew seem to hate each other? The love that used to be there and why you rooted for them to get together is simply gone and they seemed filled with a lot of resentment. I am not ready for them to have problems.
Last night was really sad. She used to be my favorite character.
Matthew was being a dick about the money he inherited. I think that is when their relationship started to lose it’s luster.
That’s also when MY relationship with Matthew started to change. He was one of my faves. Now, not so much. Loser.
I had been growing tired of the whole Mr Bates storyline- but when he is set free and returns to the house as the valet- that will be an interesting storyline if Thomas has to return to being a footman. What with his attraction to the new footman and O’Brien’s ambitions for her nephew, could be a nice added bit of drama.
I don’t even want to talk about last night. It was so upsetting.
I started watching last night, but fell asleep. I see they have seasons 1 and 2 on On Demand, but I have to pay for them. I ain’t doing that. Since I already pay for Netflix, I’ll watch them there.
One of my favorite shows! Did you watch it last night? Lawd I am still in tears. iCan’t!
Oh and the situation with Matthew will get heated on how they manage the estate.

Ah, man. I’m all late with this show. A few of my friends have been talking about and say it’s ALL the rave. Is this on a premium cable channel or regular station?
I watched Seasons 1 and 2 in a matter of two weeks so I could catch up with Season 3. I love the Crawleys man!!! The Dowager Countess is my fave of all! She be cutting up on the regular round Downton!!! I so love the clothes Mary wears. I mean, she be wearin’ the ish outta those clothes!!! Thomas and O’Brien make me wanna scream but they are both getting karma. O’Brien with what she did to her ladyship (I love those titles btw) and Thomas, with his ever so snarky behind, will def. get what is coming to him!!! I so heart Bates and Anna! You knew the moment she laid eyes on him, that she was ride or die!!! Can’t wait for Sunday evenings. I would love to see how the relationship between His lordship and her ladyship came to be. She never hesitates to let him know that she is American! LOL!!! This show is awesome!!!!
