Five Down

One week into my diet and I had my first official weigh in.  Oh, let me tell you about my weighing ritual.  I wake up and weigh myself.  Then I tinkle and weigh myself.  After I step out of the shower.  Yep, you guessed it.  I weigh myself.  Yes, I’m a little weird.  It’s how I’ve always done it.

This week, my first week, I’m down five pounds.  Yes!  This puts me back at my October weight, which was also my lowest recorded weight for 2012.

The week started out hard.  I was having a difficult time getting my mind in the game.  By Thursday I found my flow.  Friday night I had enough points for 2 glasses of wine.  I only had one.  Yes, I have found my zone!

Saturday was lunch with DiscoDiva’s book club.  It was at one of those mongolian grill type places. I skipped the rice and pasta and filled my bowl with broccoli, bean sprouts, spinach and other veggies.  I added a little sauce and had the most delicious meal.  I went back twice and each time added a little fish.  I left sated and satisfied.  I might even go back in a couple of weeks.

I went to a movie afterwards and was determined not to have popcorn.  But as I was driving over I decided that since I only get to the movie theater 3 times a year I was having my popcorn dammit.  I had a small popcorn and didn’t even finish it.  And I drank it with water.  I still had points leftover at the end of the day.

So the week was a success.  And a successful week is just the jumpstart I needed.  I’m getting ready to head to the store to get fruits and veggies and canned tuna (my current lunch of choice).  I’ll easily stick to it this week.  On Saturday I’m having another shindig at my house (can’t wait to share!) and that will be my official cheat day.

5 pounds down and 5 to go.

Ugh don’t worry about weighing yourself often. I weigh myself daily on two different scales :-) . A little OCD but yeah I need it.
