October curlBOX

My October curlBOX arrived today!  There is nothing like opening up a box of goodies for your hair.  I really appreciate the full-sized products we receive.  The samples…not so much.  I mean, really, what am I supposed to do with .5 ounces of shampoo?

Anywho, the timing was right today.  I am low on conditioner and the October box included a full-sized bottle of Dr. Miracle’s Nourishing Conditioner.  So, after my walk, I grabbed the bottle and hopped in the shower.

I co-wash about 5 days a week, so I don’t like to spend a lot of money on conditioner.  I looked on several sites and it looks like this conditioner retails around 8 or 9 dollars.  That’s about triple the amount I normally spend, so this stuff had better be good.

Thankfully, it was.  I really liked thickness of the product.  It wasn’t too thin and wasn’t too thick.  The smell was a little strong at first, but I quickly got used to it.  What really stood out, and what most people probably won’t like, was the menthol-like experience.  Once the steam filled the shower, my nostrils were immediately cleared.  And my entire head tingled.

Let me emphasize the menthol-like experience.  It is STRONG.  It was almost like rubbing icy hot into my scalp.  For those of you that know me, you know that I happen to like an icy hot rubdown.  I just never thought I would get one on my head!

Back to the co-washing…I detangled my hair with ease and really liked how my hair felt when I was done.  My scalp felt tingly and cool.  So did my neck.  And my hands.

Would I buy this product again?  Yes.  I wouldn’t use it daily because of the cost, but I would definitely use it once a week or so.

I can’t wait til subscriptions are open again for CurlBox. I was able to order a $40 box a couple of weekends ago that will ship later this month. I also subscribed to CurlKit. My order should be here today or tomorrow. A friend gave me some Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding because she didn’t like it. I’ve been using it for the week and my curls are popping, but my hair is kinda hard. Glad this was gifted to me and I didn’t purchase. I love Camille Rose products, too. I use the hair milk and Fresh Curl. I have the Almond Jai Twisting Butter. I used that before I BC’d. Haven’t used it since. Will save it and use when my hair grows a little longer for twists. I actually think I could twist now, but I’m lazy.

I love a hair product that makes my scalp tingle! I need to look into this curlbox thing. It seems like a great way to try new products for less than half the price.

Never heard of curlBox, but will look into as we are a natural hair family. Love Dr. Miracle products and I agree that the menthol smell is really strong, but you get used to it after a few uses. You usually find Dr. Miracle cheaper in independent beauty supply stores or try online from like Sally’s Beauty.

WalMart puts it on clearance every so often too but you have to keep checking because it goes fast.
