Weekend in Review: Ladies and the Drinks

I don’t know about you, but my weekend was jam-packed full of fun.  Autumn officially rolled in and I am loving it.  Warm sun by day and cool breezes through my window at night.  It could stay like this all year long and I would be perfectly happy.

After tennis on Friday night and Saturday morning, I headed to the spa for a much needed massage, and an opportunity to use the groupon that was gifted to me by the fabulous DiscoDiva.  Every time I get a massage I wonder why I don’t go more often. I looooooooove massage.  You know what I don’t love?

Feeling I have been in a girl fight after it is over.  Actually, the massage felt great and I didn’t at all feel like she was working me to hard.  In fact, I didn’t think she did my legs any justice, but the next morning I had a couple of bruises on my arms and this bad boy on my inner thigh.

Saturday night the girls and I posse’d up and headed to Chastain for the New Edition concert.  I contributed some tasty libations while others brought food and jello shots.  We had a table, ironically situated just behind Tazzee ’nem, with a great view.

Leading up to the show, I was marginally excited, but when the fellas came out I was totally HYPED.  They all looked great, except for Bobby who is really and truly a biggun.  I mean he looked like their old, drunk uncle instead of their peer.  But when he took a chicken wing from the audience, I hollered.

I think I only sat down when Johnny Gill sang his new song because, really, who cares.  And when they sang Poison I thought my head was going to explode.  I just wish I had more room to dance.   I am soooooo happy that I went and I really have to do better about getting to Chastain every year.

Sunday I had a tennis match.  It was a beautiful fall day to play tennis…in the hood.  I mean, I have never seen courts like this in my life.  They make my urban tennis center look like the country club.

And since the courts were so bad, I am going to blame them for my loss.  Yes, I’m still losing.  But my coach and teammates all agree that I have improved a lot.  Honestly, I think if I had played with a better partner, we would have won.  The team we played was not that good, but my partner has less experience than I do.

I ended the weekend cooking and cleaning and watching the Emmy’s.  By 10 o’clock I slid into the fresh clean sheets and passed the hell out.

How was your weekend?

New Edition was so much fun!

I agree with you on your partner. Nicest lady but there are some things that she needs to improve upon for a win.

Based on FB seems like most of the people I know in ATL were at this concert.

I was out and about all weekend. while I didn’t get a message I did get a total body scrub at the Korean spa out in west bumble VA. Love those!
