Sunday I hosted some friends for a Falcons playoff watch party. It started out as an excuse to use my big daddy indoor fryer and then quickly morphed into a chicken and waffles extravaganza.
I’ve never actually fried chicken before. It seemed like a whole lot of work for something that can easily be procured by a professional. Truth is, it WAS a whole lot of work! But I dutifully soaked my chicken in buttermilk, and seasoned and floured it, then I let it rest before I started cooking.
The end result looked kinda bad. But it was actually pretty tasty. For true! And, most importantly, it was cooked all the way through. The waffles were just meh. So in my opinion, the chicken and waffle extravaganza was kinda a bust. But the wine was wet and really that solved all our problems.
As for the game…it started out so strong. We were completely hyped. By the time halftime rolled around, we had all invited ourselves to Intern’s hotel room for Super Bowl tailgating. He didn’t know it, but we were completely serious. Then the game took a nosedive and we lost. One guest got up and left without even saying goodbye. The rest of us decided to do the wobble.
Yes, we had a dance party after the game was over. Hey, my ATLien playlist was not going to go to waste!
After dancing most everyone stuck around for a Housewives watch party. Know what’s better than live tweeting Housewives tomfoolery? Watching it live with your besties!

Fun party and you were a delightful hostess as usual Babs! The food was yummy too!
